
Born in New Jersey in March of 1949, (most definitely a ‘Baby Boomer’.) His father a WWII Army vet moved his family out of Newark when Richard was six (1955) to take advantage of the new home being built in answer to the demand created by WWII vets starting families.
Richard is the oldest of four children. He has two brothers and a sister. They moved to the small town of Fords, (so named for the Ford Motor Company plant on the edge of town.)
Richard is father to three children two sons and a daughter. He grandfather to six and great grandfather to one (So far).
In 1961 His father passed away, leaving his mother to raise her four children alone. In 2017 his mother passed followed by his middle brother in 2021.
In 1967 Richard joined the U.S. Navy where he achieved the rank of Engineman 3rd class. In November of 1969 Richard received orders to serve in Danang, Viet Nan where he served on small boats patrolling the Danang anchorage to keep zappers away for the ships waiting to be unloaded. During October of 1970 he received orders and flew back to the stated. He was honorably discharged and returned home.
In 1991 Richard was living in Las Vegas Nevada when he meet Jo Wilkins a member of his church. She requested his help in working on a story she was developing. That story turned in Tyranny’s Outpost, followed by Tyranny’s Prisoner and Tyranny’s Alliance. The books were pulled from print when they decided to do reedits.
In 1992 Richard began the development of his own series Over the next twenty years he wrote five books as the The MacKenna Saga. Consisting of Dreams and Deceptions, Plots and Prophecies, Prophecy’s Pawn, Prophecy’s Knight, and Prophecy’s Queen.
Richard took a six month break in 2014 to Pen his romance novel Almost A Whisper. The story setting is in northern eastern Arizona and north western New Mexico.
Richard is currently working on a new series titled Shadow Chasers. Book one, Desert Shadows came out in 2023. His second book Forest Shadows is due out August 2025.
At this time Richard has three other stories in development as well as his third book in his shadow Chasers Series.
Richard lives in the southwest with his wife of thirty-four years Martha.
